In a year when women are mobilizing and running for office in unprecedented numbers, the PBS series Women, War & Peace II uncovers the untold histories of those who have made it possible. The series reveals the transformative power of contemporary peacebuilders around the world and the long road ahead. The original documentary series Women, War & Peace premiered in 2011, and it returns to PBS on March 25 and 26 to demonstrate how some of the biggest international stories of recent memory are shaped by women.

On March 12, an all-female cast of directors will gather on the Columbia University campus to speak about four never-before-told stories of the women who risked their lives for peace, changing history in the process.

This launch event is open to the public (although registration is required) and is co-hosted by the Women, Peace and Security Program at the Advanced Consortium on Cooperation, Conflict & Complexity (AC4), the Earth Institute, Columbia University; Fork Films; THIRTEEN Productions LLC for WNET; and Peace is Loud.

The event includes a preview of select scenes and a conversation with:
