The 2015 Paris Agreement was hailed as the “world’s biggest diplomatic success”. However, it is very much still a work in progress, and the question of whether it will ultimately prove successful in preventing dangerous climate change remains uncertain.

This event with HKUST’s Institute for the Environment and Civic Exchange will act as a preview to the upcoming COP24 conference in December 2018 in Katowice, Poland.

The speaker will be Professor Daniel Bodansky of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. He was formerly the Climate Change Coordinator at the US Department of State. He is the co-author of “International Climate Change Law” (Oxford University Press, 2017).
