In the magazine of the Hans Böckler Foundation, R. Andreas Kraemer, Wenke Hansen, and Eduard Interviews provide insights into the so-called "Ewers-Gutachten," an expert report released by the Federal Ministry of  Economics and Technology. This report—which was supported by R. Andreas Kraemer—deals with options, opportunities, and preconditions of a deregulated, more sustainable water management system.

In this article, the authors present an overview of different types of competition in the water management industry, methods for increasing competitive pressure, as well as the potential dangers of deregulation.

The magazine issue (04/2002) in which this article appears can be ordered on the homepage of the Hans Böckler Foundation; the Ewers-Gutachten [pdf, 260 KB, German] is available for download.
