The economic evaluation of measures for adaptation to climate change was the central topic of discussion on 18 September 2012, as the Ecologic Institute in Berlin welcomed a delegation of government officials and academics from Peru. At the event, participants were able to exchange their relevant experiences on the topic and introduce some of the methods being applied in Peru and Europe.

The exchange led to the discussion of interfaces and points of convergence for possible collaboration in the further development of the economic evaluation of adaptation measures. In Berlin, Max Grünig and Gerardo Anzaldúa presented the work of Ecologic Institute on the economics of climate change. The following day, the group travelled to Bonn, where they met with members of other research institutions to discuss about the experiences of Peru in the economic evaluation of public investment measures for climate change adaptation. Alberto Ruiz Aquino, Chief Advisor to the IPACC project of the GIZ Peru, chaired the workshop. The event took place as part of the delegation's visit to Germany, within the GIZ project Public Investment and Adaptation to Climate Change – IPACC, funded by the Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) within the framework of the International Climate Initiative – IKI.
