Chemical Watch cites Senior Fellow Angela Logomasini on federally funded children's environmental health centers: Libertarian thinktank the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) has called for the Trump administration to reassess and pull grant money from children’s environmental health centres funded by the EPA and the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS).  The argument comes in a 24 October report, Federally funded children’s environmental health centers do little to promote public health, which argues that many of the existing centres "simply waste taxpayer dollars while funding junk science and environmental activism."  .............................................. The thinktank highlighted certain centres as case studies of "activist" research, including: the Columbia University Center for Children’s Environmental Health; the University of California, Berkeley Center for Integrative Research on Childhood Leukemia and the Environment (CIRCLE); and the Emory University Center for Children’s Health, the Environment, the Microbiome and Metabolomics (CCHEM2).  "Many of the research studies these centres produce are essentially nothing more than statistical analyses that attempt to find an association between a chemical and a health effect," the report said.
