The recent Russian meddling in Western elections, including the Brexit referendum of 2016, the US presidential election in 2016 and the French presidential election of 2017, has brought Russian propaganda and disinformation to the very center of political attention all over Europe. It aroused the fear that Western open democracies may be particularly vulnerable to destabilization of this type.
This seminar brings together a group of researchers to discuss both the extent and nature of modern Russian propaganda, and to discuss what has been done in Europe to counter these new information threats.
The seminar is hosted in cooperation with Vilnius University.
