STEPI embarked on its mission as the Secretariat Office of The Asian Journal of Technology Innovation (AJTI).

STEPI has set a stage for promoting communication and exchanges with the academic research community in STI.

On December 30, STEPI held an opening ceremony of the Secretariat Office of The Asian Journal of Technology Innovation (AJTI), a renowned SSCI journal in the field of technology management and innovation policy, at its headquarter building.

The journal has been published since 2004 and it was designated as an SSCI journal in 2010. Renowned scholars and experts in technology management and innovation research take part in the publication of the journal. In particular, the journal deals with research topics related to S&T policy, technology management and innovation that the Asian countries are keenly interested in. The journal is published three times a year. Authors can submit their papers anytime via the online submission portal at https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/rajt.

Upon the opening of the Secretariat Office, the journal's Editorial Board members have been appointed including the chief editor Prof. Patarapong Intarakumnerd of National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo.

While playing the role of a communication channel for the AJTI Editorial Board, STEPI will be performing various tasks of the journal's Secretariat Office including the selection of reviewers, distribution of papers among reviewers, operation of review process, support for publication decision-making, and management of review process.

Several STEPI experts will take part in the Editorial Board working closely with other prominent members of the board. Senior Research Fellow Dr. Tae-jeong Ha of the Office of National R&D Research will serve as vice-chief editor and a Korean coordinator, Research Fellow Dr. Yong Rae Cho of the Future Strategy Team under the Department of Strategic Planning as an editor, and Researcher Ms. Suna Lee of the Division of Global Innovation Strategy as an editorial secretary. The e-mail address of the AJTI Secretariat Office is ajti@stepi.re.kr.

"STEPI has contributed to the development of the nation by faithfully fulfilling its role as a leading think tank in STI policy for the past 32 years since its foundation in 1987. Considering its comprehensive role in STI policy research over the years, STEPI's embarking on its mission as the AJTI Secretariat Office will provide an important momentum for us to deepen our communication with academic research community home and abroad. Taking a step further, I look forward to the active engagement of the AJTI Secretariat Office not only in academic research but also in the communication and exchanges with leading global policy institutes and experts," said STEPI President Dr. Hwang-Hee Cho.

The AJTI annual editorial board meeting will be held in parallel with the Annual Conference of the Asian Association of Learning, Innovation and Coevolution Studies (ASIALICS). The 17th ASIALICS annual conference is scheduled to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia on July 27 and 28 in 2020.
