Making our homes future-ready calls for rapid scale-up, and retrofitting with an understanding of emerging climate-change impacts is key. This means identifying new weather and non-weather shocks and stresses, and potential solutions. To ensure one solution doesn’t negatively affect another, building retrofit planning and design must take both climate adaptation and mitigation measures, and how they interact, into account. (Download a primer on climate resilience and deep retrofits.)
