Kathy Sullivan is “the most vertical person in the world”: the only person to have walked in space and gone to the deepest point in the ocean. Her exploration has been far afield, but exploration to her simply means a commitment to put curiosity into action. Through her podcast, Sullivan explores lessons learned in the lives of her brilliant and ever-inquisitive guests.
Dawn Wright appears on this episode of Kathy Sullivan’s podcast. Wright is the chief scientist of Esri, a platform that provides mapping and spatial analytics software. As chief scientist, Wright strengthens the scientific foundation for the software and services provided by Esri. Wright also is known as “Deep-Sea Dawn” due to her expertise and vast research contributions in marine geology. She was the first African American woman to conduct a dive with ALVIN, a deep-sea submersible.
