Welcome to this unique discussion between academics from China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela and Norway.

Can foreign actors help in bringing about an agreement, or may such assistance be negative?

The current crisis in Venezuela has multiple dimensions and widespread implications mainly for the people of Venezuela, but also for neighboring countries, global markets and the political stability of the region. Various foreign actors are involved in different ways, yet they have taken on different roles and positions, and so far been unable to contribute to a basic consensus on possible solutions.

In this unique dialogue on the crisis in Venezuela and its possible solutions, we have joined scholars from Venezuela, Cuba, China, Russia and Norway in a conversation on possible ways out of the crisis.

What are the dominating perspectives among these actors on the ways out of the crisis? Can foreign actors help in bringing about an agreement, or may such assistance be negative? What is the role of the academic community in these countries?
