Perspectives for the new European Fisheries Fund NEW
The report was commissioned by the European Parliament Directorate-General for Internal Policies to inform their own proposals and input to the new proposal for the fisheries financing Regulation expected in late 2011.
It is an independent evaluation of the implementation of the European Fisheries Fund, identifying shortcomings and challenges that Member States and the fishing industry have faced during the current programming period (2007-2013). Proposals for a future EFF are based on the evaluation of series of options taking into account the needs of the sector, as identified in this study, and current EU developments on the Multi-Financial Framework (MFF) which are likely to affect a future fisheries Fund.
