摘要 | This symposium posed a series of questions about operations, compliance, ethics, and transparency in corporate political spending (CPS) disclosure. Participants discussed components of strong CPS compliance programs and mechanisms. They also discussed some of the practical problems that responsible executives, including compliance and ethics officers and general counsels, have encountered when dealing with corporate political disclosures. Other topics included crafting corporate political accountability mechanisms and compliance policies to reinforce their effectiveness and ensuring that executives who are responsible for political spending accountability, regardless of their function within management, contribute to the broader public policy goal of achieving greater transparency and accountability in corporate political spending. |
