| 摘要 | Metropolitan growth has been fast in many industrial nations since the beginning of World War II. At the beginning of the 1970s a marked downward shift was observed, especially in metropolitan regions dominated by old industries. For this category of urban settlements the decline process has continued. Simultaneously, in the 1980s, one can identify a set of creative regions that function as international focal points for knowledge creation, R&D, negotiations, and other face-to-face activities. In many respects, these diverse development patterns reflect a profound technological transition in the world economy. |
