摘要 | Improved protection of the Russian forests through more efficient forest fire protection and control of outbreaks of insects and disease may result in additional carbon sequestration - about 0.15 Pg (150 million tons) C annually during the next 100 years. The basic uncertainties in the scenario discussed in this article are linked to the paucity of inventory data for some areas of the study, the incomplete knowledge about the reaction of forests on different disturbance regimes, and the separation of the influences of different factors on the dynamics of the forests. |
