摘要Bradshaw, Smith, and Blanchard discuss a number of facets of the decline of tuberculosis and influenza, fascinating and important diseases. Bradshaw, Smith, and Blanchard (2008; hereinafter BSB) make a number of points opposing my 2000 Population and Development Review article with Michel Garenne. I will confine the present discussion to these points. It will be useful to begin with a summary of the relevant points of Noymer and Garenne (2000).
