Which developments have altered the power system in 2014? How has the expansion of renewable energies progressed? What is the role of greenhouse gas emissions from coal-fired power plants? The 2014 annual review offers answers to many such questions. It is based, among other things, on data from the electricity exchanges’ transparency platforms, as well as on the Agorameter. With this, we aim to contribute to a well-founded debate about the direction and pace of the Energiewende. Our brief assessment of 2014: in the most important areas, the Energiewende is well on its way.
