In spring 2019, climate policy is high on the public agenda: with FridaysForFuture and the UN conference on climate in September 2019, the German government is asked to deliver. In their coalition treaty, SPD and CDU/CSU agreed to reach the German climate target 2030 and to introduce according legislation in 2019.
The project „Elements of a climate act”, Agora Energiewende and Agora Verkehrswende present instruments, which may not be sufficient to reach the 2030 target, however are the minimum that has to be put into legislative form during the current legislative period.
