摘要 | This report proposes a new land-change model that integrates an econometric model and geographic information systems/science (GIS) to simulate future land-use and land-cover changes of South Korea. The model is designed to factor in socioeconomic and biophysical climate change scenarios so as to support national policies for adaptation. The econometric modeling is specialized at projecting quantity of Built, Agriculture, and Forest based on area, rent, and population density for multiple time periods. The GIS analysis is geared towards prioritizing areas for each land category by taking into account distinct types of land-uses and land-covers, protected areas, road network, etc. Based on the rank maps, the projected quantity is spatially allocated; map comparison methods are then applied to the predictive outcomes in order to quantify the associated uncertainties. The research provides (1) spatially and temporally explicit business-as-usual (BAU) projections of land-use and land-cover change, (2) a modular framework to integrate land-change modeling with the climate change scenarios, and (3) accuracy assessment of the BAU projections. |
