| 摘要 | The Demilitarized Zone on the Korean Peninsula does not solely belong either to South or North Korea. Due to such unique circumstance the region has been untouched for several decades. This report presents suggestions in pursuit of sustainable land-use of DMZ. Because DMZ is under the jurisdiction of the Military Armistice Commission, we argue that the research on DMZ could be more beneficial when studied internationally rather than domestically. The bordering region to the DMZ that is under the jurisdiction of North Korea lacks research. Without safeguarding the North Korean residents near DMZ, its sustainable land-use seems unlikely. More data regarding the DMZ must be collected systematically for monitoring purposes. Surveys (ecological, cultural, etc.) must be conducted before any regional development, and landmines should be removed in an environmentally friendly manner. |
