| 概述 | The project is dedicated to the Arctic and the Northern Hemisphere to describe, model and predict the weather and climate of the regions and their teleconnections on seasonal to decadal time scales. This information will allow communities and businesses in Eurasia and North America to develop and plan their activities better. |
| 摘要 | 【General Aims】 To actively improve our ability to describe, model, and predict Arctic climate change and its impact on Northern Hemisphere climate, weather and their extremes, and to deliver valuated climate services of societal benefit. 【CMCC role】 CMCC will contribute to the activities in WP1, WP3 and WP4 in terms of analysis, coordinated experiments, production of deliverables and related scientific publications. CMCC is also involved in WP6 for clustering research communities focusing on Blue Growth/Arctic impacts and to define best practices for the use of seasonal predictions.【Activies】 WP1: characterization and analysis, including predictive skill, of weather extremes (i.e. polar lows) in models and observations;
WP3: analysis of teleconnection (atmospheric and oceanic pathways) of Arctic sea-ice changes on Northern Hemisphere climate and extremes;
WP4: evaluation to improve predictive skill and predictability of Northern Hemisphere high-latitudes weather and climate
