摘要

More commerce flows within the Atlantic Basin than any other. Never have so many workers and consumers entered the Atlantic economy as quickly or as suddenly in the past fifteen years. Atlantic peoples are engaging and interacting in a whole host of ways that are shifting the contours of regional and global independence and power—yet relatively little attention has been paid to these pan-Atlantic dynamics. With this in mind, the Center for Transatlantic Relations asked experts and seasoned practitioners to explore the changing comercial dynamics of the Atlantic Basin. Authors map the shifting flows of goods, services and investments binding North and South America, Africa and Europe; exame the influence of Pacific actors in the Atlantic space; explore the implications of current trade negotiations, commercial disputes, challenges of inequality, growth and human development; and offer recommendations for governments and other stakeholders.
