This workshop report highlights the main points of discussion during Mandalay City's first Workshop focused on the development of its Municipal Waste Management Strategy, held June 16-17 in Mandalay, Myanmar. Organized in collaboration with the Mandalay City Development Committee, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Conservation (MONREC) of the Government of Myanmar, the UN Environment's International Environmental Technology Centre (IETC) and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) – Centre Collaborating with UN Environment on Environmental Technologies (CCET), the workshop brought together national and local policy makers, public waste management providers and related stakeholders to provide technical inputs towards the formulation of a city-level strategy based on a holistic waste management approach.
