This workshop report covers the main discussions and outcomes of Mandalay City's second Workshop focused on the finalization of its Municipal Waste Strategy and Action Plan, held 8 December 2016. Organized in collaboration with the Mandalay City Development Committee, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Conservation (MONREC) of the Government of Myanmar, with support from the UN Environment’s International Environmental Technology Centre (IETC) and Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) Çentre Collaborating with UN Environment on Environmental Technologies (IGES-CCET), with facilitation of local consultants from Environmental Quality Management (EQM), the workshop brought together national and local policy makers, public waste management providers and related stakeholders including industries, academic and civil society groups to discuss and provide technical inputs towards the finalization of Mandalay's strategy as well as the identification of a future pilot project for the city.
