The training programme was organised to “Support Renewable Energy Deployment through Developing Project Proposals to Access Green Climate Fund (GCF)” by IGES-KRC with support from Ministry of Environment Japan and IRENA. The training programme was attended by representatives from Maldives, Palau, Fiji, Samoa and Mozambique. It was observed that the 5 day intensive training gave the participants a thorough understanding of the process while applying for the GCF funds, along with other possible funding options like GEF, Abu Dhabi development Fund, IRENA Platform, etc. By the end of the workshop ,the participants had a road map about the operational framework of GCF, and were working on comprehensive
project proposals. A follow up workshop was organised in Fiji to develop the project proposals further.
