In collaboration with the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies, Japan (IGES), NIES has worked with Bhutan for years to address the adverse impacts of climate change. On February 5-8, 2018, IGES delivered a training program for policymakers, and the Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Information Platform (AP-PLAT) coordinated lectures regarding climate change and its impacts. Held at NIES, the program hosted 12 Bhutanese participants, facilitating a dialogue with Japanese stakeholders about the respective climate conditions and problems facing their countries, as well as an exchange of ideas about how to implement and promote adaptation. The training concluded with the promise of continued relationship building and future collaboration.
