With Hyogo Prefecture’s Grant, in FY2017, IGES's Kansai Research Centre (KRC) conducted various research and dissemination activities in India, Thailand and overseas to promote the deployment of Japanese energy efficient technologies in the industrial sector.The strategic activities undertaken during the year has shown the important role that can be played by research institutes, like IGES, in facilitating the transfer of technologies from developed to developing countries. The participation of several Japanese companies, especially from Hyogo Prefecture has significantly enhanced the awareness of Japanese technologies in India and Thailand. It was observed multi-stakeholders ‘matchmaking model has enormous scope to strengthen the deployment of Japanese low carbon technologies.
