| 摘要 | Nitrates taken in with water of food can result in methaemoglobinaemia, commonly known in infants as the blue-baby syndrome. The body becomes progressively starved with oxygen, turning affected individuals blue, firstly around the lips, fingers and toes and then spreading to the face and body. |
