As a follow up to the national seminar held in 1991, this seminar was held to review the current land use situation in Vietnam and to provide an up-to-date record. The collection of 24 papers ranges from a history of land use policy; to an overview of current policies, laws and land uses; agricultural development and food security; and forest development strategy. Presented at the seminar by senior scientists, policy makers, and farmers, the papers provide an insight into the rapidly changing economy and land use in Vietnam.
