This resource book was put together as a part of the global Evaluating Eden project. Under this project a South Asia regional review of Community Involvment in conservation was conducted. This review involved field studies at a series of sites to understand and document community based conservation of natural resources, and in particular, of biodiversity in South Asia.
The South Asian review was coordinated by a group of individuals associated with the environmental action group Kalpavriksh.
