摘要 | Pastoralist groups in Kenya, although forming a significant part of society, are widely marginalized and overlooked within government. However, when the government ignored them completely when designing a Poverty Reduction Strategy, the pastoralists formed a lobbying group. This paper describes how the group was formed, and the success they had in getting their voices heard. This article was published in PLA 43: Advocacy and Citizen Participation. Participatory Learning and Action (PLA, formerly PLA Notes) is the world's leading series on participatory learning and action approaches and methods. PLA publishes articles on participation aimed at practitioners, researchers, academics, students and activists. All articles are peer-reviewed by an international editorial board.
