摘要 | In this closing article we will review 'good practice' in relation to immersions, while also noting the difficulties in reaching any meaningful assessment of their long-term impact. We will discuss the ethical dilemmas they raise, and argue that the next phase of immersion practice should find more creative ways of letting the voices of the hosts be heard, and of trying to answer the question posed in the introduction: 'What would those living in poverty want us to do?' Participatory Learning and Action (PLA, formerly PLA Notes) is the world's leading series on participatory learning and action approaches and methods. PLA publishes articles on participation aimed at practitioners, researchers, academics and activists. All articles are peer-reviewed by an international editorial board. Article in PLA 57. Guest editors: Izzy Birch, Raffaella Catani with Robert Chambers. |
