This report reviews the potential of developing payments for catchment protection services in the upper Ga-Selati sub-catchment and the Sabie Sand catchment. The study indicates that there is most potential for developing a payment for environmental services mechanism between the buyers and sellers of catchment protection services in Ga-Selati, where improving the transport and storage of water would be the most cost-effective intervention. Key lessons and conclusions arising from the process, baseline studies and analyses of this review are presented.
