In November 2014, the Government of Uganda is in the process of amending the Wildlife Act, 2000.The revision process provides an opportunity for the Uganda Poverty and Conservation Learning Group (U-PCLG) to raise issues that are important to the group, regarding legislation on wildlife conservation and communities’ livelihoods. Of particular importance are measures to minimise human-wildlife conflict and to improve and increase revenue and benefit sharing with local communities.
