The Market Analysis and Development (MA&D) approach is being used in the CoNGOs: NGOs collaborating for equitable and sustainable community livelihoods in Congo Basin forests project as a field-oriented training of facilitators from two CoNGOs countries: the Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon. Training in MA&D enhances the entrepreneurial capacities of local communities so they can access market opportunities and improve their cash income, while also gaining greater incentives to protect and sustainably manage their natural resource base. This report was prepared by Jacques Lecup, an MA&D trainer consultant, who was selected by IIED to train and monitor facilitators of the project partner organisations in the field. The report reflects on Phase 1 and 2 of the training, which took place in Yaoundé, Cameroon from the 12th of May until the 18th of May 2017.
