1.
Purpose of the research
The aim of this study lies in clearing up the concept of 'green growth', relating the green growth with policies and measures for climate change in energy and industrial sector, drawing proper measures to achieve green growth, and evaluating economic effect of proposed strategies. By doing so, this study is trying to find out compatible ways to foster economic growth, as well as environment management.

Contents
The study is consisted of following sectors. Firstly, we analyze current international discussions related to 'green growth' with special focus on measures to stimulate the current economy and to deal with the financial crisis. Also, the study is introducing the current technology level and investment plan related to 'green technology', e.g., new and renewable technology in Korea. The data accumulated in this section is used as basic backup-data for modeling.
To evaluate effects of proposed strategies, this study developed a computable general equilibrium (CGE) model to simulate various scenarios according to the degree and cost of technology development, distribution of new and renewable energy and various measures for climate change. The main purpose of modeling lies in finding out mix of strategies to achieve coexistence of economical growth and environmental protection. The special feature of the model can be found at allowing technological growth to be endogenous in the model. The technology growth is also related to, and induced by environmental regulations, productivity growth, cost of market distribution and investment in the model. That is, the model is comprehensively including benefits and costs arousing from technological growth to be more rational and realistic in building set of policies to achieve the 'green growth'
In the additional appendix, we introduced a plan for 'green living campaign' aimed to publicize nesseccity of green growth and related policies as energy saving and distribution of new and renewable energy. This kind of campaigns is well known to be cost-effective measures to deal with greenhouse gas reduction.

Summary of the results
The results of empirical studies suggest that the adoption of novel greener technology can reduce the cost of reduction of greenhouse gas emission on a massive scale. The adoption of new technology will reduce the cost in terms of GDP reduction by 63% in 2020, and by 84% in 2050, when compared to the case that the cap-and-trade is the only measure to deal with reduction target. The results are suggesting that achievement of the reduction target should be accompanied with development of new and greener technology, which will require supports from government to promote accelerated distribution and development of technologies.
