At the EcoFest 2007, Aaron Best discussed the relationship between transportation and the environment, focusing in economic terms on the costs and benefits to the environment of various modes of transportation. He also discussed some of the ways governments offset some of those costs through taxes and charges.

EcoFest 2007 was held in Ohrid on the shores of Lake Ohrid in the southwestern part of Macedonia. EcoFest is an annual festival devoted to raising awareness of the importance of preserving and protecting the environment. In recognition of World Environment Day on 5 June, the US Embassy in Macedonia teamed up with the Macedonian Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning in the realization of the EcoFest 2007. In addition to film screenings, the festival included panel discussions about important environmental issues.
