摘要

Between September and December 2016, Ecologic Institute, the International Journalist Programme (IJP) and Clean Energy Wire (CLEW) collaboratively organized five study tours on the German energy transition for journalists from North and Latin America, Africa and Asia. While the history and current state of Germany's energy transition was at the heart of the five study tours, each tour aimed at providing the participants with tailored information relevant for the field of energy and climate policy in their respective home countries.

The four day study tours were supported by the Ecologic Institute through inputs to programme design, logistics and implementation. Specifically, Ecologic Institute developed and carried out an introductory workshop for all five tours, explaining the underlying fundamentals of energy policy. The concept and realization was adjusted over time to fit with the respective group's needs.

The tours included presentations by climate and energy policy experts from the Ecologic Institute and other think tanks as well as discussions with representatives from federal ministries and government agencies on the opportunities and challenges related to the German energy transition. Moreover, the programme was filled with field trips to energy projects in the Brandenburg region, to allow the participants to meet with members of local initiatives and to get to know their views on and experiences with the energy transition.

Ecologic Institute also carried out an evaluation of the participants' perception of the tours.

The project was funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy via IJP and CLEW.
