Prosumer potentials in NRW 2030

Prosumers play a major role within the discussion about the shaping process of the energy turnaround. Furthermore and in line with the amendment process of the EEG 2017, participation possibilities of tenants were discussed and seen as important as part of the prosuming debate. The study aims to assess the status quo as well as the potentials of prosuming in NRW. Therefore, different technologies which are suitable for self-consumption (e.g. PV and cogeneration units) will be examined. Based on the existing housing stock, buildings will be identified where prosuming units can be installed to carry out a potential assessment. Additionally, economic analysis will be implemented to analyze obstacles for prosuming.
