摘要 | The Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) makes approximately $24 billion available over the next five years to help states provide health insurance for low-income children who do not have private health insurance and who are not eligible to receive Medicaid. This paper finds that certain features of CHIP are likely to prevent states from using all of the available funding and insuring the maximum number of children. Ways that states might cover more children and other insurance options available to states are also explored in this paper.
