However, these gains were offset by losses of $4.2 billion through reduced gifts and lapsed donors. The report is a product of the Fundraising Effectiveness Project, which was established in 2006 by the Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy at the Urban Institute and the Association of Fundraising Professionals, to help nonprofit organizations increase their fundraising effectiveness.
