In fact, the criminal justice space may be uniquely well-suited to PFS, addressing such issues as workforce development for system-involved individuals, opioid misuse treatment, and child welfare. Drawing from a review of PFS legislation, current PFS efforts across the country, and practitioner experiences with PFS, this brief explains benefits and challenges of the PFS model and offers lessons learned for criminal justice PFS efforts.
