摘要 | This series of publications studies the National Institute of Justice (NIJ)-funded cross-site evaluation of seven Bureau of Justice Assistance FY 2011 SCA AORDP grantees.
This report shares positive impacts for seven grantee agencies and partner organizations receiving grants as Second Chance Act (SCA) Adult Offender Reentry Demonstration Projects (AORDPs). Grantees used their funds for efforts ranging from enhancing support for reentry services and improving reentry culture; to growing collaboration, communication, and service provider networks; to expanding use of evidence-based practices, standardization, and accountability. In addition to documenting successes in these areas, the report highlights grantee strategies for sustaining portions of programs implemented with SCA funding.
This report describes the views of reentry program and partner organization staff regarding the successful implementation of Second Chance Act (SCA) Adult Offender Reentry Demonstration Projects (AORDPs). Stakeholders credited successful implementation to effective planning and thoughtful modifications over the project period, buy-in from corrections partners, and collaboration, communication, staffing, and coordination among partners. The report also shares factors AORDP stakeholders found necessary for effectively serving clients experiencing the reentry process.
This report describes the use of risk and needs assessment tools on the part of Second Chance Act (SCA) Adult Offender Reentry Demonstration Project (AORDP) grantees. Across the seven evaluation sites, all used risk/needs assessment tools to identify eligible participants, inform reentry/transition planning, and guide service delivery. Sites varied in which tools they used, with many sites using widely recognized, validated tools and some developing local tools tailored to their target populations. The report also provides an analysis of survey data showing broad stakeholder support for risk/needs assessments.
This report describes the use of case management across the Second Chance Act (SCA) Adult Offender Reentry Demonstration Project (AORDP) grantees. Evaluation findings indicate case management was a foundational practice for the delivery of holistic reentry service provision across the seven AORDP evaluation sites although the structure, intensity, and duration of these services varied by site. Analyses of stakeholder survey data also indicate the seven sites engaged in broad information exchange and other practices consistent with the principles of effective case management and conducive to successful program implementation. |
