摘要 | A committee of social scientists convened by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine asked the Urban Institute to use the Transfer Income Model, version 3 (the TRIM3) microsimulation model) to estimate effects of policy packages and individual proposals aimed at cutting child poverty in the United States in half in 10 years. TRIM3 is able to help determine how these policy changes might affect individual households, and then aggregate the results to estimate the effect of the committee’s policy proposals on safety net program benefits, benefits, participation, and poverty rates.
