摘要 | This report presents findings from a 2019 assessment of the Community Safety Partnership, a collaboration between the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Police Department—a joint effort to make Los Angeles public housing developments safer by reducing gang influence, improving residents’ perceptions of safety, helping youth access resources and programming, and strengthening police-community relations. Using a combination of quantitative data analysis, interviews with program staff, and focus groups with residents, we found that the program reduced crime and improved police-community relations in one housing development and shows promise for increased impact in the future. We highlight the program’s successes and challenges, and conclude with recommendations for future improvements. |
