摘要 | Improving the ability of the long-term care system to meet the needs of an aging population is at the top of the nation’s policy agenda. This issue brief describes the demographic characteristics of vulnerable adults—those at significant risk of needing long-term care services in the near future. In addition, it reports on their knowledge of long-term care coverage and service availability in their areas, as well as their sources of information regarding long-term care. Finds that many vulnerable adults do not know what services are available in their communities and also lack information about the costs involved. This brief is based on a survey of adults age 50 and older in 13 communities participating in the 168’s Community Partnerships for Older Adults Program. |
