摘要	The Food Stamp Program (FSP) provides millions of Americans with the means to purchase food for a nutritious diet and is the largest of the 15 domestic food and nutrition assistance programs administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service. This report presents an overview of eligibility requirements and benefit levels, as well as characteristics of FSP households and participants nationwide, in fiscal year 2007. In an average month, the FSP provided benefits to nearly 26.5 million people living in nearly 11.8 million households across the United States for a total cost of $33.2 billion. The average monthly benefit for all participants was $215 per household.
