摘要 | Findings in this article indicate that little is known about the extent to which the workload of nursing faculty has contributed to the current nurse faculty shortage. The authors suggest that conducting an in-depth comparative analysis of the workload of nursing faculty and faculty from other academic disciplines would provide a more comprehensive picture. A better understanding of the workload and its influence on the nurse faculty shortage will facilitate prioritization of strategies to address the national shortage. If long-term solutions to the shortage are not identified, an inadequate nursing workforce will continue to contribute to the uncertainty of the U.S. health care system. |
