摘要 | This study found that community-dwelling individuals and nursing home residents treated by a geriatrician were less likely to use the emergency department (ED) than individuals treated by other providers. Compared with those with no geriatric care, the predicted probability of ED use in one month was 11.3 percent lower for community-dwelling individuals who had one or more office, home, or nursing home visits to a geriatrician in the previous six-month period. Results for nursing home residents were similar. |
