摘要This study is among the first of its kind to find empirical support for the anticipated benefit of health information exchange (HIE) to lower health care costs by reducing repeat medical tests. It found that HIE, in which patients' clinical data follow them across care delivery settings, is associated with decreases in repeat imaging in emergency departments.
