摘要	Key Findings: The number of full-time equivalent (FTE) HIV providers was expected to decline over 5 percent nationally from 2010 to 2015, while demand for their services would increase almost 14 percent. There was a shortage of 133 FTE HIV clinicians in 2010 (representing roughly 7 percent of actual supply), which would grow to a shortage of 502 clinicians in 2015 (representing nearly 30 percent of actual supply). This study is the first large-scale effort to identify the number of HIV clinicians practicing in the United States, to characterize their workforce behavior, and to assess HIV workforce needs at the national and regional levels. It was designed to address concerns about a potential shortage of clinicians in the future.
